This article caught my eye. By 2030, more than 8 million Americans are anticipated to be living with some form of dementia, and many will depend on round-the-clock in-home care. Think about that for a minute – 8 million people needing care due to dementia. That’s terrifying. And the stress it places on caregivers – many of whom are still working – can be overwhelming.
A study led found that dementia patients who were tended by caregivers with depression and anxiety typically died sooner than those being looked after by caregivers in good mental health. Technology such as this mentioned in the article may help alleviate some of the stress of caregiving in some situations.
